From: Kevin Gosztola

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any memos, lists, spreadsheets, emails, or records of communications between journalists, editors, or media organization representatives between July 25, 2021, to October 7, 2021, that relate to or involve request(s) for comment on the United States Justice Department’s criminal prosecution and extradition case against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange (or Julian Paul Assange).

This is not a request for material covered by attorney work-product privilege or attorney-client privilege.

As a professional reporter who has a track record of journalism on the Justice Department, I assert that I should be designated as a media requester for the purpose of assessing fees. Given the high amount of public interest, I additionally ask that any and all fees be waived. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of any and all charges in advance of fulfilling my request.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Kevin Gosztola
