A no responsive documents response.

From: Runa A. Sandvik

To the FBI Freedom of Information Act Appeal Authority,

This letter constitutes a formal appeal under the U.S. Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts (5 U.S.C. 552/552a) and the regulations promulgated thereunder.

Along with a letter dated Jan. 23, 2014, the FBI responded to my request for processing notes and search slips for two separate FOIA requests (1193094-000/Silk Road and 1193089-000/Bitcoin) by saying no responsive records were found. You had assigned the request for processing notes and search slips reference number 1249892-000.

The FBI performed an inadequate search for records responsive to my request, which is violative of the FOIA. I hereby appeal the FBI inadequate search for records responsive to my request and request that the FBI conduct a new complete and thorough search for processing notes and search slips for the following two FOIA requests:

1. FOIPA Request No.: 1193089-000 with subject "Bitcoin (all miscellaneous documents - 6/2011-6/2012)".
2. FOIPA Request No.: 1193094-000 with subject "Silk Road (all miscellaneous documents - 6/2011-6/2012)".

Sincerely,

Runa A. Sandvik
