Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
This request has one topic, but two parts.
The first part: the annual dollar value of the "638 contract" that was paid out to the Oglala Sioux Tribe for ambulance service. I understand that in some instances, the value of the ambulance service may be rolled in with other services and called "combined health services", but I am looking specifically for the amount of money issued specifically for ambulance services. The timeframe I'm seeking for is the last ten fiscal years.
The second part: the amount of money that IHS is currently spending on the Pine Ridge Service Unit ambulance service, including contact labor, startup contact supplies, and labor transfer from (for example) Cheyenne River.
Another way to word this request, put simply, is this: "How much was the Tribe paid to run the ambulance service, and how much is IHS now spending to do it themselves?"
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
