This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
A copy of all data collected by the National Operation Center Media Monitoring Capablity system's automated logging mechanism since Jan. 6, 2011. This information is directly referenced in the April 1, 2013 Privacy Impact Assessment for the system. All the information captured by the mechanism is un-identifiable by individual, according to the PIA, and so should therefore not violate the privacy of individuals.
The PIA describes the automated logging mechanism as such: "The log captures the date and time of the search, the analyst user ID, and the character search term. The purpose of such searches is to locate a previously issued MMC report."
I also request that all fees be waived as I am a journalist -- employed by the Boston Globe and MuckRock -- and intend to use the requested information to educate the public and not for any commercial benefit.
I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
