We are now searching for and gathering the records, you requested. I will be checking these records to make sure they do not contain any information considered confidential (statutorily exempt) and therefore unavailable for public inspection under Washington law. Accordingly, I require additional time to respond pursuant to RCW 42.56.520.

I estimate that by 10/8/2020, I will send you copies of the records which respond to your request. Please note that our state Public Records Act, RCW 42.56 Chapter, is what governs public records requests in Washington State and not the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).  The Public Records Act requires agencies produce identifiable records that exist at the time a request is made, not future records, meaning all records that are responsive to your request that exist as of today, will be produced and nothing past today.  You may wish to submit future requests.  Furthermore, our agency's email vaulting process occurs on an email once it reaches 30 days old.  Therefore, in order to capture all responsive emails up to the date your request was received (8/20/2020), we will run the search for responsive emails after 9/20/2020, then begin the review.  At that point, we will have an idea potential charges.

Charges may apply for copies of responsive records. If there is a charge, I will provide an invoice that is due upon receipt and prior to the release of records.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Pamela Potwin
