From: Martin Pfeiffer
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all reports and planning documents discussing efforts to assess or model the climate impacts of nuclear war and the results of any such efforts. You may restrict your search to the time period between and including January 1, 1982 to January 1, 2019. You may exclude the NNSA laboratories of Los Alamos, Sandia, and Lawrence Livermore (and their predecessor entities). In your search and the records you release please include both those records produced by the Department of Energy (and associated and predecessor entities) as well as documents produced by other agencies that are now held or archived by the Department of Energy (and predecessor and associated entities).
As the FOIA requires, please release all reasonably segregable nonexempt portions of documents.
I hereby petition for educational institution fee status. I am a PhD student at the University of New Mexico and the information requested is for academic and public education purposes, including my PhD dissertation project, and not primarily for commercial use. Furthermore, I will make responsive records available to the public via my academic publications and presentations as well as on social media and my blog. Therefore, as per Sack v. DOD (2016) I qualify for educational fee status and ask that you process my request accordingly. In your response please confirm that you will be processing my request under the Educational Institution fee category.
Please note that you can access my UNM student profile page at the following url: https://anthropology.unm.edu/people/grad-students/profile/martin-pfeiffer.html
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer responsive records be provided in digital format by email or, if that is not possible, by CD-ROM.
You may, and I request that you do so, engage in rolling release of responsive documents.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
I look forward to receiving your response to this request within the 20 day statutory period.
Sincerely,
Martin Pfeiffer
