To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Any files, photographs, reports, video or documents dealing with the Social Security Administration's Office of the Inspector General's investigation into the identity of a woman who used the alias of "Lori Ruff". This investigation was carried out by an employee of the Social Security Administration named Joe Velling.

The investigation into the identity of the woman in question resulted in a fascinating 2013 article in the Seattle Times:

http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/she-stole-anotherrsquos-identity-and-took-her-secret-to-the-grave-who-was-she/

It was stated in the article that the Social Security Administration's Office of the Inspector General was baffled by the mystery and sought the assistance of the news media to help publicize the case.

This case and the publicity surrounding it has resulted in numerous discussions on forums such as Websleuths and Reddit:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?215469-TX-quot-Lori-Ruff-quot-Longview-WhtFem-(UP-9863)-*General-Discussion-and-Theories*

The case remains unsolved, and the release of any additional information could help the crowdsourcing efforts to solve this case.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, and is not being made for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Robert Delaware
