Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

• The following interdepartmental White House memos written by Lee Atwater: “The South in 1984,” (1983) “Building an Electoral Fortress in 1984,” (1983) “Winning the Snowbelt in 1984,” (1984) “A Media Strategy for 1984,” (1984) “Ronald Reagan and the Gender Gap,” (1984) “Memorandum to the Vice President,” (sent to Bush on December 19, 1984); and “Gary Hart’s Long March,” (1986).

• Any and all letters, memos, and other documents written to Louise Ravenel from Lee Atwater which mention the “Atwater Bullshit Theory”

• A book outline put together while Atwater was in the hospital in September 1990.

Happy to discuss this request further and narrow in scope if necessary.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
