Know Your Domain

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

A major FBI program or initiative called "Know Your Domain," which FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III referred to in a speech on November 10, 2008, before the International Association of Chiefs of Police in San Diego, CA. (I just tried to find a link to this speech on www.FBI.gov, but could not find it. I quote from this speech in my book, The Dangers of Dissent: The FBI and Civil Liberties since 1965, p. 292, 303). A source tells me that Director Mueller may have misspoken and the correct title is "Know Our Domain." Please search this second term if the first brings back no records.

I ask you search all documents, including memos, reports, videos, emails, and text messages. Please search all subject lines in these documents.

I believe the "Know Your Domain/Know Our Domain" initiative began around the time Director Mueller gave his speech in 2008.

Please search the Central Records System, as well the S-Drive and I-Drive, which open media stories say existed in the past, and maybe still today.

You may correspond with me if you believe this request is too broad and want me to narrow it down. If the file is more than 5,000 pages, I may negotiate with you on how to narrow down my search before I file an Appeal with the Office of Information, U.S. Department of Justice.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
