From: Howard Perlow

Mr. Nash:

I have begun preliminary processing of your FOIA request on the International Solidarity Movement. At this point, we are culling material to decide what should go forward for processing.

In reviewing the papers, I noted that probably half the documents are print-outs of press releases or media reporting found in NEA Bureau files. While we are glad to include these documents in the case, that will greatly increase the costs of the case. I did a quick web search for a few media items and found them to be readily available at no cost. Similarly, there is a long report from B’Teselm which is not about ISM but does include mention of of it (“Crowd Control:” Israel’s Use of Crowd Control Weapons in the West Bank” ). It is also readily available on line.

If you agree, I am glad to remove from this case media items and papers readily available on line. Alternatively, if you wish to have them included, please let me know via e-mail or telephone (202-663-2070.)
