To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I request the case file on Bernard Fensterwald, who died in 1991. This is a link to his obituary in The New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/1991/04/04/obituaries/bernard-fensterwald-69-lawyer-for-james-ray-and-watergate-spy.html

I also request information and records of his contacts with the CIA, in particular any information and records pertaining to the Mary Ferrell Foundation, a 501c3 private foundation located in Ipswich, MA. or to Mary Ferrell, a Dallas resident and Kennedy assassination researcher who passed away in 2004. This is a link to Ferrell's obituary in The Dallas Morning News: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/dallasmorningnews/obituary.aspx?n=mary-elizabeth-mchughes-ferrell&pid=1958846

Fensterwald was a lawyer for James Earl Ray, the man convicted of assassinating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and James McCord, the Watergate burglar. Fensterwald submitted document requests to the CIA about the assassination of President Kennedy (and, possibly, other events) and provided the documents he received to his friend, Mary Ferrell, mentioned in the previous paragraph.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

John Kirsch
