To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any training or teaching materials for Immigration Judges since 1/1/2017 on how to set an appropriate bond amount or what bond amounts are appropriate in what circumstances. Recent news reports reflect that bond amounts are increasing for unknown reasons. https://www.axios.com/immigrant-bail-bonds-costs-rising-ice-judges-2e3a06b6-9802-4157-a282-ac9e9587a10d.html. This is while the individuals detained by ICE are less likely to have criminal records due to ICE's changed priorities starting in January, 2017.

This would include not just formal teaching materials but any scale or bond schedule that would direct Immigration Judges about what bond amounts are appropriate in what circumstances.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Matthew Hoppock
