To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I would like semi-annual historical MCS-150 data from the year 2000 through 2019 with snapshots on June 30 and December 31. This data, sometimes referenced as a Motor Carrier Census File, is available (https://ask.fmcsa.dot.gov/app/mcmiscatalog/d_census_mcmis_doc) via FMCSA's Volpe Center for use by the trucking industry. My request is composed of distinct snapshots every six months. For example, the first three snapshots would be 6/31/00, 12/31/00 and 6/30/01 and the last two snapshots would be 12/31/18 and 6/30/19. If those dates are problematic (holidays, etc...) please use the closest available date.

I request that the data be provided in a similar format as documented in the MCMIS catalog (https://ask.fmcsa.dot.gov/app/mcmiscatalog/d_census_recordLayout), in a CSV format and ideally delivered to me by FTP. Please provide one CSV file per snapshot, with the date as the file name.

Thank you in advance and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Luna Droubi

Good Morning,
We apologize for the delay with your request. FMCSA is currently working through a large backlog and process requests first in first out. We have reviewed your request for processing to see if we can provided the level of data requested. We can't go as far back as requested however; our data office is reviewing further to see what can be provided. This is a complex request which will take longer to process. We hope to have a response to you within 8-12 weeks.

Thank you for your understanding
