To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Any complaints filed with the FTC regarding a mysterious Saint Petersburg, Russia, company called RM8.travel. Although this company was based in Saint Petersburg, it looks as if they might have briefly targeted American consumers with an iOS app that was listed in the American iTunes App Store. This company also produced some promotional materials targeted to Spanish speakers worldwide.
Here is a dead link to the US based app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rm8/id896225379?mt=8
Here is a link to an Android version of the app on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=my.rm8&hl=en
Here is a link to a promotional video about the app:
The website has long expired www.rm8.travel
Although I believe that there are most likely no complaints ever filed with FTC, I do believe that a search would be prudent. Please use the following search terms to search for any possible complaints:
RM8.travel, RM8 Travel app, hostels@RM8.travel, Daria Timoshenkova
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Dear Mr. Delaware,
