To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am writing to request records under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. ยง 552. Specifically, I am requesting the FOIA logs maintained by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and or PBS for the past 6 years that identify all FOIA requests received by CPB or PBS during that time period, including the requesters' names, the date the requests were received, a description of the records requested, and the status of each request.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jackson Parker

To Whom It May Concern:

This email responds to the attached letter from MuckRock News, which requests that PBS furnish your organization the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) logs maintained by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and/or PBS for the past 6 years. The letter states that the request is made pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act.

While your letter states that you are following up on a prior FOIA request from April 2023, please note that we have no record of having received a prior FOIA request directly from you, although a copy of MuckRock's request sent to CPB was forwarded to our office.

As CPB informed MuckRock on April 25, 2023, PBS is a private corporation, not a government agency. Accordingly, PBS is not subject to the FOIA statutes of the government, and it has no FOIA logs. CPB is likewise a private corporation not subject to FOIA, though it is separate from and unaffiliated with PBS.

Sincerely,

Jill D. Patrone
