From: Robert Delaware
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any records pertaining to Alix Cecil Dobkin (Born: August 16th, 1940 - Died: May 19th, 2021). Alix Cecil Dobkin was a folk singer and a self described communist and lesbian feminist. Her death was widely reported in the mainstream media, and a copy of her obituary should be attached.
A link to her obituary can be found here: https://www.seattletimes.com/entertainment/head-lesbian-singer-and-feminist-alix-dobkin-dies-at-80/
In her Obituary in the New York Times, it is mentioned that Ms. Dobkin obtained her own FBI file in 1983 via a FOIA request. This would indicate that the FBI has a file of her that was released to her.
A link to her NYT obituary where the 1983 release of FBI documents is mentioned can be found below:

This request is for any and all records about folk singer Alix Cecil Dobkin from any and all FBI offices, including HQ, field offices (including, specifically, the New York field office) legal attaches, and facilities that maintain records under the FBI’s control. This is a request for FBI documents "a file" released to her in 1983 - along with any subsequent information gather by the agency after the 1983 request, and until her recent death.
Please also consider that this request also include a search of any “cross-referenced” records relevant to the inquiry. Along with “ELSUR” (Electronic Surveillance) records for Alix Cecil Dobkin.
In addition, this request asks the FBI to search the Sentinel database, the Investigative Data Warehouse, and the Data Integration and Visualization System for relevant documents related to Alix Cecil Dobkin from the earliest records available until her death on May 19th, 2021.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Robert Delaware
