Dear Mr.  Reynolds :
Thank you for your fax dated 3/22/2021 concerning the status of your Freedom of Information Act request. Currently, your request is in the search stage.
Treasury Departmental Offices processes FOIA requests in a multi-track system, which identifies a request as simple or complex, and generally processes each request on a first-in, first-out basis. Your request is considered complex. During the last fiscal year, complex requests were processed on average within 347 business days. Based upon this, I estimate that we will be able to complete your request by date of receipt + 347 business days. The amount of time that will be required to process requests varies greatly and depends on a number of factors including how many offices or custodians will need to be searched, whether the records you have requested are easily accessible, whether the records are electronic or hard copies, the volume of records located, the classification level of the records, and whether or not consultations with other Federal agencies are required.
Narrowing the scope of your request may reduce the time required to process your request. If you are interested in exploring this option, please reply to this email to schedule a time to discuss your request with me.
Thank you,
Michelle Henshaw
