Dear FAA FOIA Office,

Thanks for your reply. I hadn't received it earlier

I have a few questions regarding the responsive document as I've asked for the ASDI Block list - including all of information contained in the list.

1 - Could you confirm that the FAA does not have the ICAO number of the planes on its ASDI block list?
I find this quite surprising.
2 - Could you also confirm that the FAA does not have this list in an Excel (i.e. table) format?
3 - Could you confirm that the FAA does not have information on the Company Affiliation / Owner / Operator of the planes on its ASDI block list?
You had provided this in response to a previous FOIA, so I would be surprised it is not the case https://www.muckrock.com/foi/united-states-of-america-10/asdi-blocking-requests-11574/
4 - Could you confirm that there are no military planes on the FAA ASDI block list?

If you find additional information which you haven't sent me, then I'd be happy to receive it.

Thanks in advance. Best regards,
Emmanuel

From: Federal Aviation Administration

Dear Mr. Freudenthal,

We have reached out to the program office that responded to your request and was informed that all information maintained by the agency regarding the ASDI was already provided to you in the format in which they are maintained. They do not have any additional information. If you have any additional questions specific to this request, you may reach out to the office directly.

Respectfully
FAA FOIA Office

From: Emmanuel Freudenthal

Dear FAA FOIA Office,

Thanks for the reply.

It is completely impossible that the list is maintained on a pdf, because it is a document format that cannot be edited. And because of this, to create a pdf you need to first have another document, such as Excel or Word.

This obvious issue makes me question the other replies too. Please could you clarify this again with them?

My only other recourse is an appeal which will be time consuming for everyone.

Best,
Emmanuel

From: Emmanuel Freudenthal

Dear FAA FOIA Office,

I'd like to make an appeal to your reply for the reasons outlined in my previous message (pdf cannot be the format in which the data is held). Could you provide me with the correct to file it?

Thanks in advance. Best,
Emmanuel

From: Emmanuel Freudenthal

Dear Sir or Madam,

This is an appeal to the reply to request #2019-003635 by the Federal Aviation Authority.

The FAA claims that " all information maintained by the agency regarding the ASDI was already provided to you in the format in which they are maintained." This was a pdf document.

It is completely impossible that the list is maintained in a pdf document, because it is a file format that cannot be edited.

And because of this, to create a pdf you need to first have another document, such as Excel or Word.

Therefore, I'd like to request the original document in its original format.

Best,
Emmanuel
