Dear CJ Ciaramella:

This email is in reference to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated August 27, 2013, in which you requested all correspondence from John C. Beale, from January 20, 2009 to August 1, 2013.

Although the agency believes this may not be a properly formulated FOIA request, the agency will respond to your request in the interest of transparency. However, we will be unable to respond to your request within the FOIA's 20-day statutory time period because of the need to search for and collect the requested records from other offices that are separate from the office processing the request and the need to search for, collect and appropriately examine a voluminous amount of separate and distinct records which are potentially responsive to your request.

We are currently searching for and compiling the information you requested. We expect to be able to respond to your request within 10 days of the original due date for responding to your request.

If you have any questions about this matter, please contact me at (202) 564-3277. Please know that we appreciate your interest in the EPA and our mission to protect public health and the environment. We remain committed to assisting you with your FOIA request.
