To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

All emails sent or received by Chief of Staff Sharon Drumm on Jan. 23, 2017. This includes all emails on which Ms. Drumm was copied or blind copied, all emails she forwarded, all emails forwarded to her, and all emails she received as part of an automated email list.

I also request expedited processing. This request relates to the ongoing presidential transition. It is urgently needed to inform the public about actual or perceived government activities — namely, a reported stop on public communications from ARS by the new administration. The news value of the requested records will be lost without expedited processing.

I am a full-time, professional news reporter whose work regularly appears at The Christian Science Monitor, WGBH News, Teen Vogue, and other outlets. This request is part of the newsgathering process. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by email attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,
Joshua Eaton

Hello Mr. Eaton,
I am reaching out to the requesters that sought a backup copy of our animal welfare database in 2017, after the removal of our public search tool from the website. The public search tool was restored to our website later in 2017 and I wanted to make sure you were all aware of that. It is available at :

https://acis.aphis.edc.usda.gov/ords/f?p=118:1::::::

In terms of receiving a backup copy of the data in the database, we have learned from our Animal Care program that there are some problems with their search. Can you please give me a call at the number below to discuss? Or email a good time and number to call you? This is the only contact information we have for you. Thanks!
