A printout or listing of all investigations closed since 2010.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Hello,

The letter you just sent was in response to a request filed in January 2013. The present FOIA request, while similar in wording, was filed in December 2013, and yet to be acknowledged with a tracking number of any response from your agency.

By way of further clarification, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense assigns its investigations individual tracking numbers (see http://www.dodig.mil/pubs/index.cfm?office=Audit), which suggests that there is a database or other tracking system maintained by the office. The FOIA requires requesters to either describe (i) the specific document(s) requested, or (ii) the circumstances that lead to the creation of the requested document(s). The description I have provided more than adequately covers the latter circumstance.

Furthermore, similar requests sent to other Inspectors General have been fulfilled without dispute or similar delay.

In light of the above, I respectfully request that you process this request without delay and in light of your obligations under the FOIA. Thank you, and please let me know if I can provide any further clarification.
