Hello,

This letter states that your office needs additional information, which "would include a time frame, the office(s) to search, and the specific category (or categories) of subject matter."

My original request was: "A copy of each opinion issued by the Designated Agency Ethics Officer (DAEO) for the Department of Defense during Fiscal Year 2022."

This already includes the timeframe (Fiscal Year 2022), the office to search (DoD), and the subject matter (each DAEO opinion issued).

Additionally, for the analyst's understanding, according to 5 C.F.R. part 2638, The DAEO is the officer or employee designated by the head of an agency to administer the provisions of Title I of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, as amended, and 5 C.F.R. part 2634 within an agency. Section 104 of 5 C.F.R. part 2638 provides additional information regarding the appointment and responsibilities of the DAEO. The term “DAEO” also includes any delegate of the DAEO, unless otherwise indicated.

I look forward to the prompt receipt of these documents. Thank you.
