Good Morning:

My name is Castina J. Watson. I am a Paralegal with the DEA's Freedom of Information and Privacy Act Section (FSRN). It has come to my attention that you have some concerns regarding Request No. 21-00109-F.

Firstly, thank you for your patience during our processing of your request. Please be advised, the Intake Unit has completed the search for records responsive to your request. Your request has been moved to the Processing Unit for further analysis. Due to the national emergency concerning the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, DEA, like many federal agencies, has mandated telework for its FOIA staff. Please note that some records that may be responsive to your request are most likely housed in the National Archives, Federal Records Centers (FRC). Due to COVID-19, some of the FRCs remain closed. The FRCs are gradually resuming operations on a record center by record center basis based on local and specific safety criteria.

The staff at all closed locations will respond to emergency requests for records. As a result, you may experience a delay in receiving a substantive response to your FOIA request. DEA will finish processing your request as quickly as possible at the resolution of the COVID-19 emergency.

Should you have any additional questions in reference to your request, you may contact myself at the email address referenced in the signature block of this correspondence. You may also contact our Customer Service Hotline Representative at 571-776-2300. Again, thank you for your patience.
Best,
Castina
