Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
On February 7, 2022 the Dept. of Homeland security released a memo titled "Summary of Terrorism Threat to the U.S. Homeland." (https://www.dhs.gov/ntas/advisory/national-terrorism-advisory-system-bulletin-february-07-2022).
This memo raised concerns about the proliferation of mis-, dis-, and mal- information (MDM). One of the items listed under a section titled "How We Are Responding" was the following:
"DHS is working with public and private sector partners, as well as foreign counterparts, to identify and evaluate MDM, including false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories spread on social media and other online platforms that endorse or could inspire violence."
I request copies of any communications between DHS and public and private sector partners pertaining to their partnership to "identify and evaluate MDM."
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
