From: Paul Szoldra

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all closed reports of investigation carried out by the Marine Corps Inspector General from Sept. 2018 to the date of this request. I would be happy to engage in a conversation about the extent and nature of those records in a good faith effort to limit the scope of the inquiry, and therefore the amount of work your office must do in reviewing the documents prior to release. In that spirit, and in an effort to limit the request and therefore the time it takes to complete, I am not seeking at this time any exhibits such as witness statements or other attachments that might require a significant review.

I agree in advance that personally-identifying information such as name, DOB, SSN, or contact information be withheld. However, I request all other fields of information, including but not limited to the incident's date, type of weapon (if there is one), installation, date of arrest if one made, type of charges if field, and incident synopsis or summary.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Paul Szoldra, Task & Purpose
