Hi Mr. Sparks:
I am the analyst that is assigned to process your FOIA request.   I have a couple of questions regarding the records you are seeking.
In your request you are seeking "Any and all logs documenting requests made from policing and investigatory agencies to the Census Bureau for records."
1) Is it FOIA or Correspondence logs you are requesting?  It is key to know if it is a specific log(s) you are seeking so I can task the proper office.
2) Is there a specific date range for the records you are seeking?
Thank you Karen

Hi Karen,

I apologize for my delayed response.

I am seeking records from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015.

I am seeking records of policing and investigative agencies requesting access to Census Bureau records, and you're right that this is too broad. My intention is to discover to what extent outside policing agencies rely on census-agency data. For the sake of simplicity I will limit my FOIA request to include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, and the United States Marshals.

I apologize again for my delayed response, and please feel free to call me with any concerns or questions. My phone number is (530) 902-5312.

Thank you,

Brian
