Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Records relating to, mentioning, or generated as a result of the August 28, 1980 attempted assassination of John Gunther Dean, then serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon. Responsibility for this attack was claimed by the Front for the Liberation of Lebanon from Foreigners. Please conduct a new search for records not already present in CREST. Please do not include as CIA-RDP90B01370R000300410003-1 or CIA-RDP90B01370R000300410002-2 as part of your response, I am already aware of these records' existence.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

This is an appeal of FOIA request F-2019-01376. I am appealing the integrity of the search performed in its entirety. It strains credulity that no records can be located other than the ones I have previously referred to, and the implication that CIA would not maintain any permanent records of an attack on diplomatic personnel performing their official duties in a volatile regions is distressing. The records cited previously plainly show an interest by the Agency in this incident, making this assertion prima facie absurd.
