On September 13, Chairman Jerrold Nadler, ranking member Doug Collins, Chairman David Cicilline, and ranking member F. James Sensenbrenner submitted far-reaching requests for information, known as RFIs, requesting “documents and executive communications” from Amazon, Google, Apple, and Facebook as a part of the investigation process. The deadline for the companies to submit relevant documents was October 14, 2019.
Therefore, in accordance with the Federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), I hereby request the following records:
- Any and all documents and executive communications submitted by representatives from Amazon, Google, Apple, and Facebook as requested by the September 13 Request for Information sent by the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial and Administrative Law:
- Any and all digital communications, including emails, any attachments in said emails, and text messages from members of the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial and Administrative Law and representatives from Amazon, Google, Apple, and Facebook between September 13, 2019 and the time that this request is processed.
The requested documents will be used in the course of reporting at BuzzFeed News. Therefore, we hereby request that all fees associated with this request are waived.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
