To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Any and all meeting minutes from the American Egg Board recorded from May 3, 2016 through July 31, 2017.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. Previous minute meetings have revealed the AEB's efforts to undermine the marketing of Just Mayo, an egg-free mayonnaise alternative, violating the terms of the egg checkoff program. Given that Target, a major marketer, has pulled Just Mayo from its shelves following a Food and Drug Administration report, something the Egg Board had previously expressed interest in, further minutes would be of great public interest. I have already reported on this ongoing tension (https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/z43wqe/how-big-egg-tried-to-control-your-mayonnaise), and I request these records for the purposes of further reporting. This will be used in the course of reporting for Motherboard, VICE Media's science and tech news site.

If a fee waiver cannot be granted, please process this in the "media" fee category. In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,
Kaleigh Rogers

Dear Ms. Rogers,

This email is to provide notification to you that an extension of up to 10 working days is being invoked to prepare a response in the above referenced FOIA request.
