To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All Bureau records mentioning or pertaining to Alexander Guterma (also known as Alexander Leonard Guterma, alias Sandy McSande), born on April 29, 1915 and whose death was April 5, 1977.
The death of Alexander Guterma was widely reported in the media. This request is for any and all records about from any and all FBI offices, including HQ, field offices (including, specifically, the Florida field offices and the FBI's office in New York City), legal attaches, and facilities that maintain records under the FBI’s control. Please conduct a search for records related to Mr. Guterma's business activities or companies (including the Desert Inn in Las Vegas, NV), and/or (but not limited to) investigations of his association with Moe Dalitz, Myer Lansky, Hal Roach, Lowell Birrell, George de Mohrenschildt and Rafael Trujillo.
In addition, this request also includes any “cross-referenced” records relevant to the inquiry. Along with “ELSUR” (Electronic Surveillance) records for William Higgins. These include the names of all people and/or locations for which the agency sought a court order for electronic surveillance.
In addition, this request asks the FBI to search the Sentinel database, the Investigative Data Warehouse, and the Data Integration and Visualization System for relevant documents related to Alexander Guterma from the earliest records available until his death in April 1977.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Nathan Isaac
