From:

Mr. Abderhalden,

Do you have any information about who in the AF is processing this case; eg., name of office, name of Action Officer, a case number, or have you received any correspondence from the AF--if so, from whom? This information will help us to try to assist you. Please respond by 25 July 2018 or we will consider this issue withdrawn.

Thank you,
HAF FOIA Administration Section

From: E A

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply. No - I have not received any contact from the AF until now. Given the length of time it took to elicit a response from the AF from my initial submission, I think a one week response window is not justified. Can we continue to pursue processing this request please?

Dear Mr. Abderhalden

We received your August 5, 2020, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
request on September 4, 2020, which seeks the following:

"Request: Air Force - Known Side Effects to AC-130 Flight Crew Health
-Request copies of records that pertain to the AC-130 aircraft, and all of
its models (i.e. AC-130H), which mention possible side effects to the
pilots' and crew members' health on the aircraft. These side effects
include, but are not limited to, impotence, testicular stones, and cancer."

The request was assigned control number 2020-04204-F. Please use
this number when referring to your request

Our organization has a significant number of pending FOIA
requests. Therefore, we implemented a multi-track processing for requests.
Based on the information you have requested, we placed your request in the
Complex track. We estimate a response to your request will be provided
within 30 working days. Our policy is to process requests within their
respective tracks in the order in which we receive them. FOIA requests are
processed as quickly as possible. We will advise you if we cannot provide a
response within the FOIA statutory timeline.

The FOIA Fee Restriction prevents DoD Components from charging
commercial or "other" requesters search fees, or representatives of the news
media or educational requesters duplication fees if respond do not occur
within 20 or 30 working days for unusual circumstances (documents not
located with the office processing the FOIA request, the responsive records
are voluminous, or required consultation with another agency). Fee
restrictions do not apply if responsive records total more than 5,000 pages,
and this office has made three or more good-faith attempts to discuss with
you, how to effectively limit the scope of your request.

The point of contact is Lyn Gunther. You may reach me at
lynette.gunther@us.af.mil <mailto:lynette.gunther@us.af.mil> or the FOIA
Office email at wpafb.foia@us.af.mil <mailto:wpafb.foia@us.af.mil> . It is
a pleasure serving you.

Very Respectfully,

Lyn Gunther
