From: Seth Robbins
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
-- all data from the cocaine module of the Department Intelligence Agency's Consolidated Counterdrug Drug Database (CCDB) from 2019 to the latest date available in 2020
-- data from the Western Hemisphere 'transit zone' (including Central America, the Caribbean, eastern Pacific, and Mexico)
-- all information, if possible, should be in machine readable tabular data, such as CSV text file
-- information from this database has been released in the past, so it should be unclassified (see link: https://www.wola.org/analysis/beyond-the-narcostate-narrative-venezuela-report/)
-- any key or library information needed to understand the data set
-- if the request proves too burdensome, please provide a list of data fields to allow for the narrowing of the request.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Seth Robbins

Dear Brittley Timmons:
I am following up on a records request I made to the Defense Intelligence Agency. Below are the parameters of the request
The response I received says the request is too burdensome (attached is the letter). I was wondering how I might go about narrowing the request to make it easier to fulfill. Also, it appears this data set has been provided to academics in the past, which makes me think that the data set is in a form that makes it easy to provide publicly. In fact, academics are being encouraged to use it. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0955395920300608?via%3Dihub
Any help you can provide in fulfilling this request is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Seth Robbins
