Dear Mr. Kick,

As we previously advised you via FOIAonline, we received your Privacy
Act/FOIA request, dated November 13, 2017, received in our office November
30, 2017, and we have assigned your request internal tracking number
NGC18-116 and FOIAOnline tracking number NARA-NGC-2018-000214. Your
request stated:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request
the following records: your agency's FOIA request log covering 2017, which
includes a field showing the subject of each request and a field for the
final disposition. Further, I request that this document be sent in any
digital formats in which it exists (such as PDF and Excel). Under the terms
of the E-FOIA Amendments of 1996, Section 5, if a document exists in
electronic format, it must be released in that format upon request.

In addition, you contacted several Presidential Libraries and the
Presidential Materials Division and made similar requests for 2016 and
2017. Because these requests all involve the operational records of the
National Archives and Records Administration, they have been combined into
one request.

Your request falls within one of the “unusual circumstances” categories
contemplated by the FOIA, 5 U.S.C. 552 §§ (a)(6)(B)(iii)((I) and (III), and
we need additional time to respond to your request beyond the twenty
business days provided by the FOIA statute. The records you seek have
required us to search several offices within NARA. To enable us to respond
more quickly to you, you may wish to reformulate your request to reduce the
amount of time required to complete our consultation, or to arrange an
alternative time frame for the processing of this request.

We regret the necessity of this delay, but assure you that your request
will be processed as soon as possible. If you have any questions you may
contact me. You may also contact our FOIA Public Liaison, Gary M. Stern
for assistance at 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740-6002,

Your request has been assigned the above internal tracking number in addition to your FOIAonline tracking number NARA-NGC-2018-000214. In your request, you stated:

In addition, you submitted similar requests to the George Bush Presidential Library, the George W. Bush Presidential Library, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, the Lyndon B. Clinton Presidential Library. Since these requests involve the operational records of National Archives and Records Administration, they have all been combined into one request.
We have identified 5 PDFs consisting of 62 pages and 4 spreadsheets responsive to your request. We are releasing the FOIA logs in part, with some information being withheld pursuant to 5 U.S.C. § 552(b)(6), (information about individuals in "personnel and medical files and similar files" when the disclosure of such information "would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy”).
This completes the processing of your FOIA request.
If you are not satisfied with our action on this request, you have the right to file an administrative appeal within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of this letter via regular U.S. mail or email. By filing an appeal, you preserve your rights under FOIA and give the agency a chance to review and reconsider your request and the agency’s decision. If you submit your appeal in writing, please address it to the Deputy Archivist of the United States (ND), National Archives and Records Administration, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, Maryland 20740. Both the letter and the envelope should be clearly marked “Freedom of Information Act Appeal.” If you submit your appeal by e-mail please send it to FOIA@nara.gov, also addressed to the Deputy Archivist of the United States. Please be sure to explain why you believe this response does not meet the requirements of the FOIA. All correspondence should reference your case tracking number NGC18-116 and your FOIAonline tracking number.
If you would like to discuss our response before filing an appeal to attempt to resolve your dispute without going through the appeals process, you may contact our FOIA Public Liaison Gary M. Stern for assistance at:
