All of the information that UT Austin has that is related to the complaint and investigation involving Senator Charles Schwertner was requested in a series of requests dated in late 2018/early 2019. We have confirmed that there hasn’t been any new information related to this matter created since then.
Those prior requests were the subject of two rulings issued by the Office of the Attorney General: OR2018-31177 and OR2019-07643. Copies of these rulings are included with the responsive information. Because the law, facts, and circumstances on which those prior rulings were based have not changed since their issuance, we are relying on them as previous determinations to withhold the responsive records that are subject to the attorney-client privilege, the deliberative process privilege, and constitutional privacy.
The information that is responsive to your request is now available for download on Public Information Portal. Please login to the Public Information Portal at the following link to retrieve the appropriate responsive documents. Public Information Request - R005364-101823
