Ms. Fletcher,

Please see the attached cost estimate for your request below. Based on your search terms, there are approximately 1,077 responsive emails.

Because the estimated cost exceeds $100, DSHS requires a deposit of 100% of the estimated cost prior to beginning work. The deposit should be received within ten (10) business days from the date of this letter or the request may be withdrawn by operation of law.

If you would like to discuss ways to lower this estimate or modify your request, please contact DSHS in writing within 10-business days from the date of this letter stating that a) you would like to modify your request; or alternatively b) you accept the charges and will send payment; or c) you are sending a complaint regarding the charges to the attorney general.

Please note payment of the deposit does not guarantee that you will receive the documents you seek, as DSHS may still raise exceptions to disclosure and send the documents to the Attorney General for ruling.

Ms. Brown,

The system I use for records requests does not allow me to send payment unless you send a new cost estimate. I apologize: I should have made that clear. Please attach the May 7 cost estimate and I can have the check sent over to DSHS this week.

Thank you,
Megan Fletcher

Megan,

I have an update on this request. They expect to issue a full refund for this because there were about 200 emails when all was said and done. They should have documents ready for you next week. Would you agree to allowing us to withhold confidential emails without seeking an attorney general's opinion (information confidential as part of the deliberative process, draft documents and attorney-client privilege)?

Note, I'll reply to your other request with a separate clarification. We never received the payment for that one.
Thanks,
Chris

I’ve attached the documents responsive to your request. The PDF includes documents redacted because they contain drafts or deliberative process information. This will complete your request.
