Public Records Request: MALETA Agreements

Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

All contracts, licenses, MOUs, MOAs, letters of intent, interagency agreements, and other agreement documents for TBI's involvement in the Multi Agency Law Enforcement Training Academy (MALETA).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

According to a press release from the Office of the Governor, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is one of several agencies involved in the MALETA project:

"MALETA facilities will be utilized by the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI), Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA), Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST), Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security (TDOS), Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) for training local law enforcement, members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and corrections officers." https://www.tn.gov/governor/news/2023/9/27/gov--lee-champions-multi-agency-law-enforcement-training-academy-.html

Your office does not have any agreement documents for TBI's involvement in this project? TBI has not made any agreements with any other state agency regarding its participation in this project?
