To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am requesting copies of public records regarding the public funding of commercial drivers' license training programs from 01/01/2018 to 12/31/2022. These programs are designed to prepare students to meet the qualifications to become a qualified entry-level commercial truck driver. Funds for these programs were made available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Specifically, I request information regarding the following:
- Budget documents for the full date range noted above, including planning documents, proposals, and research reports
- Spending reports
- Communications, including internal emails, press releases, and meeting notes and transcripts, that include the phrase "commercial drivers' license"

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Kent Hoover, a citizen of Tennessee, in coordination with Rachel Premack.

Good morning,

The TN Department of Transportation (TDOT) has received your request for public records; however, this department does not maintain the records you are seeking. TDOT is primarily responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of TN state roadways.

The TN Department of Safety maintains records related to commercial drivers’ licenses. Their website is here: https://www.tn.gov/safety/publicsafety/openrecords.html

Thank you for contacting the TN Department of Transportation.
Regards,
