To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:
- Criminal history records and records relevant to a criminal investigation into John Re of 16B Wireless Road, East Hampton, New York, from about March 2005 (or before) up to and including January 2014.
- Records relevant to a criminal investigation into John Re conducted by Detective Brett Carlson of the Suffolk County Police Department.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public on MuckRock.com. This request is being made by a journalist, not for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
A no responsive documents response.
I'm writing to check on the status of this FOIL request. Please advise if you need any more information from me.
We checked with Central Records. A letter was sent out on 11/18/15 in response to the FOI; the DA is the charging agency so you’d have to reach out to them them as we have no records.
Just seeing your first letter now. Thanks for your help.
