Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

Any transportation services agreement(s), memoranda of understanding, or equivalent records between the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and the Suffolk County Superior Court from January 2020 through the date this records request is fulfilled.

Any transportation services agreement(s), memoranda of understanding, or equivalent records between the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and any division of the Boston Municipal Court, or the Boston Municipal Court as a whole, from January 2020 through the date this records request is fulfilled.

Any transportation services agreement(s), memoranda of understanding, or equivalent records between the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and the Massachusetts Trial Court, or any department or division thereof, from January 2020 through the date this records request is fulfilled.

Any other transportation services agreement(s), memoranda of understanding, or equivalent records between the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and any other law enforcement agency or municipality from January 2020 to the date this records request is fulfilled.

Any records indicating how the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department has used or intends to use funds from the FY2021 and/or FY2022 General Appropriations Act line item 8910-8900 - Suffolk Regional Lockup Retained Revenue.

Any records indicating how many people have been transported held pursuant to “operation of the Suffolk county regional lockup” since January 2020.

Any records indicating the names of people who were transported by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department in its capacity operating the “Suffolk county regional lockup” since January 2020.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

On 11/29/2021 the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department acknowledged the request but have not sent any further communication about a response.

Since the Department provided a response dated November 29, 2021, this appeal has surpassed the ninety (90) calendar days timeframe with respect to filing an appeal of a response provided by a Records Access Officer (RAO) pursuant to 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1)(c). See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1)(c). Please file a new request with the Department of which they have ten (10) business days to provide a response to the public records request. See G. L. c. 66, § 10(a).
