To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:
The most recent annual report required to be submitted to the General Court on the second Friday in January pursuant to MGL c272, 99R -- the reports is likely entitled, "Annual Report of Wiretap Interceptions."
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
Dear Shawn Musgrave,
On March 2, 2017, this Office received your public records request for "[t]he most recent annual report required to be submitted to the General Court on the second Friday in January pursuant to MGL c272, 99R" (PRR #170302B). Attached please find the documents responsive to your request. As you asked, they should be in a format accessible to screen readers. Because they are being delivered via email instead of on a storage device and because it took under four hours to review the documents, there is no cost associated with this production. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this production; I am available by email at email@example.com or by phone at 617-619-4131.

Thank you, Ms. Arno.
Quick question — the second paragraph of each report begins, "The number of applications made for electronic surveillance warrants in 2014 totaled two (2)."
Am I correct that the year should be 2016 instead of 2014 in that sentence, or is this sentence an update of a previous report for 2014?
Thank you for your help,
My apologies for the delay in getting back to you – the Office was closed on Tuesday due to the snowstorm, and yesterday I was out sick. You’re correct, that sentence contained two errors. I am attaching the amended versions of the two letters (which were also filed yesterday). Thank you for your patience, and please let me know if you have any other questions.
All the best,
Thank you for clarifying!
Have a great weekend,
