Pursuant to the South Dakota Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
Any email, sent or received by any employee of your agency between 11/1/22 and 11/20/22, which includes the keyword phrase "Jacob Michael James", “Task Force”, or “drug activity”.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Good afternoon,
The Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff's Office has received the attached request for information. Per South Dakota Codified Law (SDCL 1-27-1.5), Records that are developed or received by law enforcement agencies are exempt from public records that are open to inspection and copying.
If your request is regarding an officer involved shooting, you will need to contact the Division of Criminal Investigation for your request.
You may file a written notice of review with the Office of Hearing Examiners per SDCL 1-27-38.
