Pursuant to the South Carolina Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

I seek information about closed claims for commercial automobile liability policies for the calendar year 2015. Specifically, I am interested in the following information for each claim:

-Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or another persistent ID of insured
-Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or another persistent ID of claimant(s)
-License plate number/state
-Time/date of accident
-Location of accident
-Incurred loss value (property)
-Incurred loss value (bodily injury)
-Date claim closed (property)
-Date claim closed (bodily injury)
-Was legal suit filed?
-Was case settled or trial?
-Number of fatalities
-Number of injuries

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

Mr. Johnsberg, the information you are seeking is not maintained by the Department of Insurance. You may wish to try the Department of Motor Vehicles. However, I don’t believe they would maintain information on NJ Commercial Auto Claims either.

Thank you for your response. The reference to New Jersey was an error in my request, but it sounds that South Carolina does not maintain the data I seek. If I am correct, please let me know, otherwise, thank you for your prompt response.

That is correct, we don’t maintain that sort of information in our consumer complaint files.
