Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of the personnel file for Demetrius Haley, a former Shelby county corrections officers. Please include a record of any complaints filed against Officer Haley and their disposition.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

As to the portion of your request seeking the personnel file for Demetrius Haley, please be advised that pursuant to a Court order these records are not subject to release at this time.
As to the portion of your request seeking "complaints," please be advised clarification is needed as to the type of "complaints" which you are seeking. Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. ยง 10-7-503(a)(4), record requests must be sufficiently detailed to enable the governmental entity to identify the responsive records sought for production. In this instance without further information, Shelby County Government is unable to identify the responsive records sought for production because your request is not specific enough as to the type of "complaints" which you are seeking for production. You may provide clarification to our office at: publicrecords@shelbycountytn.gov<mailto:publicrecords@shelbycountytn.gov>. Failure to do so in seven business days will result in the closure of your file.
