Pursuant to RCW Ch. 42.56 (Public Records Act), I hereby request the following records:

Any and all available dog licensing and registration data for animals within your jurisdiction.

Please include all available segregable data, including but not limited to:

• the type of animal
• the breed of the pet
• the pet's date of birth
• the pet's name
• the owner's address or applicable zip code
• any other available notes

Also, I am requesting that the data be sent in Excel format.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Thank you for your public records request. I am responding to it on behalf of King County's Records and Licensing Services Division. Your request is Request ID No. ISS-41761-D1Y8W0.
I have reviewed your request and have some clarifying questions for you. Your request is addressed to Seattle's Recorder's Office (and also references Seattle, WA Pet Licensing Data in the subject line), but it appears that you are looking for animal records which would be held by Animal Services. Considering the fact that you addressed your email to Seattle, it makes me wonder if you intentionally sent this email to us at King County. Our animal services agency is the Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC), and we will not have City of Seattle's Animal Services records. If you would like to request records from the City of Seattle for their animal records, please visit the following link and they will be able to assist you:

Please let me know within 30 days if you are looking for animal services records outside of Seattle city limits and would like to continue your request with King County. If we do not hear back from you within 30 days, your request with King County's Records and Licensing Services Division will automatically close.

This message satisfies the requirement of RCW 42.56.520 that King County respond within five (5) business days of receipt of a request for records disclosure.
