Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request the following records:
Communications with Harris Corporation discussing the acquisition of a mobile phone triangulation system (also known as a cell site simulator or "StingRay"). The acquisition was approved by the Board of Supervisors on February 24, 2015 and on May 5, 2015 it was announced that an agreement was not reached and the system would not be purchased. Please include all relevant email and paper correspondence including sales brochures, price lists, proposed contracts/agreements, and any other documentation. The negotiations were run by the Procurement Department with assistance from County Counsel.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Rudenberg:
The County of Santa Clara has received your request for public records dated June 21, 2016 and received by the County on that same day. Pursuant to California Government Code section 6253(c), the County is extending the time to respond to your request by an additional 14 days because to properly process your request the County must search, collect, appropriately examine, and consult with County departments on the records potentially responsive to your request that are maintained within the County. Therefore, the records will be available on or before July 15, 2016. The County will notify you when the records are available.
