Hi, thanks for sending this. Can you please clarify which incidents on this list are police shootings? I found some that are taser discharges, carotid restraint incidents, etc. and it doesn't appear to always be labeled which OID or GBI incidents are from shootings and which are not.

Thanks,

Sam

The Riverside Police Department does not maintain an exclusive list of officer involved shootings. The list that the Riverside Police Department maintains is that which is required under PC 832.7, which includes Officer Involved Shootings (OIS) or Officer Involved Deaths (OID). A GBI (Great Bodily Injury) is a use of force that is not a OIS. The list included includes all OIS and OID cases for the years requested. If you are interested in further details of OID cases, the Riverside Community Policing Review Commission maintains a list a case review of all OID cases. This can be found at https://www.riversideca.gov/cityclerk/boards-commissions/community-police-review-commission/officer-involved-deaths-oid/officer-involved.
