Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

(1) Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, any and all records concerning hearings regarding the dismissal of any police chief conducted pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes, 7-278 since October 1, 1983.
(2) Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, any and all agreements and/or contracts regarding the employment of any police chief since October 1, 1983.

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. ยง 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Per your FOIA request below, I have the following responses.

1) As required under State retention rules, the Town of Ridgefield retains personnel records for 30 years after employment. Therefore I have no records prior to 1991 if the employee left on or before then. With that, I do not have any records of a Police Chief dismissed under CGS 7-278 in our files.

2) The Town has had contracts with only three (3) different police chiefs, since 1983. I can find no contracts between the Town and other chiefs prior to 1999. All agreements are attached.
