Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All memos, policy documents, or other reports mentioning "sports betting" "slot machines" or "casinos" issued between Jan. 1, 2017 and the time this request is processed.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Good morning. We have reviewed the request and due to the amount of records to be reviewed, we will need to use the seven additional work days provided to us under Virginia's FOIA (ยง 2.2-3704.4<https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacodepopularnames/virginia-freedom-of-information-act/>)
We also estimate it taking 5 hours of employee time at a cost of $40/hour after the first two hours ($120) to access/duplicate/supply/search these records. Please advise if you wish to proceed with your request.

If I limit my search to the past six months, will that narrow the request to two hours of search time?

We have five employees who would need to access and search these records. We could have them each work 30 minutes (versus an hour which is what we used for the initial estimate) which would get you to 2.5 hours resulting in a $20 invoice.
Would that be acceptable?
