A message was sent to you regarding record request #24-58:

Dear Requestor:

The Rhode Island Department of Administration (“Department”) is responding to your public records request for:

I am seeking any agreements, documents, reports, communications, lists, logs or datasets showing the names of the state and local law enforcement agencies that have bought or can use Accurint Databases through the statewide contract MPA 280, Legal Subscriptions, LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc., and West Publishing Corporation.

Your request is governed by the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act (“APRA”) contained in R.I. Gen. Laws § 38-2-1 et seq. This response is solely on behalf of the Department and not any other agency or branch of government.

Because of the scope of your request, and the resources necessary to run a search. The Department requires additional time to search, retrieve and/or review records and determine whether they are exempt from disclosure pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws § 38-2-2(4). In accordance with R.I. Gen. Laws § 38-2-3(e), the Department invokes an additional twenty (20) business day extension to respond. Without waving any exemptions under APRA, the Department will respond accordingly on or before the new deadline.

If you would like to appeal any portion of this response, you may do so in accordance with the provisions of R.I. Gen. Laws § 38-2-8 to the Chief Administrative Officer at the Department (Department of Administration, One Capitol Hill, 4th Floor, Providence, Rhode Island 02908), to the Rhode Island Attorney General, or in the Superior Court through judicial action.

Thank you.
