Headcount and Full Time Enrollment Data

Dear Ms. Bowers:

Thank you for your e-mail of July 20, 2021 requesting information under the
RI Access to Public Records Act. You requested the following information:

- Yearly unduplicated headcount data for the University of Rhode Island
for academic year AY2020-2021 and all academic years from academic year
AY2000-2001 and Ay 2004-2005.

*• Due to a change in student information systems, FTE for Fall
2000 through Fall 2002 (AY 2000-2001, AY 2001-2002, AY2002-2003) are not
currently available; additional effort to capture and calculate these
values would be needed and the resulting data would not be comparable post
2003 data. *

We would estimate the additional effort to be approximately 3 hours to
provide FTE data for the 2001 through 2003 academic years (This is in
addition to the hour already spent gathering the requested records.).

We will require full payment prior to providing copies of the requested
records. Please make your check payable to the University of Rhode Island
and return it to this office.

Please keep in mind that nothing contained herein represents that
responsive records are public records subject to disclosure or shall
constitute a waiver of any right or claim of exemption that the University
can assert under the law with respect to the disclosure of the requested
records. Your payment only authorizes the University to proceed with the
search and retrieval process described herein. If the actual effort takes
less time, the University will reimburse you the amount of the surplus. On
the other hand, if the actual effort takes more time than initially
estimated, the University will submit a supplemental bill for the
additional costs and suspend the search and retrieval effort pending your
further authorization to proceed and prepayment of the additional costs.

If you disagree with any determination made by this office, you may
petition the University President for reconsideration or review of the
disputed determination. In the alternative you may file a complaint with
the RI Attorney General or seek relief in the superior court of the county
where the records are maintained pursuant to RI Gen Law §38-2-8. The
